Recovery Worker
Location: Whitehaven, Cumbria
Salary: A£23,810 pro rata per annum
Job Type: Permanent, 30 hours per week
You're caring, flexible, and creative, thrive under pressure, and know how to connect with people at all levels. You enjoy helping others live as independently as possible. Join Richmond Fellowship's Roper Street as a Recovery Worker.
Roper Street is a mental health supported housing service operating on a recovery model. We provide support services for people with mental ill health in their local community, including outreach, peer support, and supported housing. We have been serving the area for years, offering a staffed service to residents aged 18 and upwards.
Recovery varies for each individual, but with the right support, recovery is possible for everyone. As a Recovery Worker, you will help and inspire service users to maintain their tenancy and independence. You will work with them to develop personal support plans to achieve their goals, whether developing domestic and finance skills or accessing work, leisure, or educational opportunities.
No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided. Candidates with an understanding of mental health issues or lived experience are welcomed. Your caring and compassionate nature, empathy, and enthusiasm are key. You should be comfortable working independently and in a team, willing to participate in a weekly rota, and available for on-call duties.
