Our client, based in Shrewsbury, is recruiting for a highly organised and proactive Production Coordinator to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of their production processes. Reporting to the Production manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of production, from planning and scheduling to material procurement and quality control liaison. Your exceptional communication and problem-solving skills will be crucial in maintaining production targets, optimising resource utilisation, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
* Production Planning and Scheduling: Assist in the development and implementation of production schedules, considering factors such as lead times, capacity, and material availability. Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to meet production targets and customer demands.
* Material Coordination: Collaborate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging materials. Track inventory levels and proactively address potential shortages or delays.
* Workflow Management: Coordinate the flow of work between different production departments and stages, ensuring efficient transitions and minimising bottlenecks.
* Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a central point of contact for production-related information, effectively communicating with production staff, engineering, quality control, and other relevant departments.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including work orders, material usage, and production output. Generate regular reports on production status, performance, and potential issues.
* Problem Solving: Identify and address production-related challenges promptly and effectively, working collaboratively with relevant teams to implement solutions.
* Quality Liaison: Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that products meet required standards and specifications. Assist in the investigation and resolution of quality issues using root cause analysis.
* Process Improvement: Contribute to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise processes.
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures within the production environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a coordination or administrative role.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* A proactive and results-oriented approach.
* Familiarity with quality control principles and procedures.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with lean manufacturing principles or other process improvement methodologies.
* Formal qualification in production leadership or a related field.
Pay: From £15.83 per hour
Hour - 40 Hours per week. TimesTBC (Operational hours are between 6.00am -6.30pm Monday- Friday)
