Office based HR Manager required working in friendly environment in Hove, occasional requirement to travel to other sites (in surrounding areas) for HR needs. The HR Manager will hold CIPD preferably level 5 and will be required to ensure compliance with employment legislation, service contracts, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding obligations. The HR Manager will work across departments and teams to implement strategies that drive engagement, fairness, and operational excellence. Develop and deliver HR strategies that align with vision, values, and strategic objectives. Lead initiatives to embed equality, diversity, and anti-racist practice into all aspects of workforce planning and culture. Advise senior leaders on HR matters, providing insight and recommendations based on workforce data and HR best practice. Monitor and manage HR budgets effectively. Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, progression, and exit processes. Lead on workforce planning and succession strategies to ensure capacity and capability across teams. Support continuous professional development through learning plans, staff inductions, and training needs analysis. Design and manage inclusive recruitment campaigns, ensuring fair shortlisting, interviewing, and selection. Ensure compliance with safer recruitment and right-to-work requirements. Develop robust onboarding and induction processes to welcome new starters effectively. Provide guidance on employment law, contracts, and organisational policy. Manage employee relations cases including grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations, ensuring due process and fairness. Maintain and review HR policies and the employee handbook in line with legislative and regulatory requirements. Administer payroll and coordinate employee benefits, pensions, and leave entitlements. Maintain accurate employee records, supporting GDPR compliance. Liaise with external agencies including legal advisors, recruitment partners, and HR support services.
