Job Summary
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across various medical settings. Your energetic approach will ensure that patients receive compassionate support while assisting healthcare professionals in providing top-notch medical services. You will engage with patients, manage administrative tasks, and contribute to a collaborative team environment that prioritizes health and well-being.
What you'll do
* Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily activities and personal hygiene.
* Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
* Support medical staff with intake procedures and medication administration.
* Assist in preparing patients for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests such as X-rays.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
* Communicate effectively with patients and their families to enhance their experience and address concerns.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings, including outpatient clinics, emergency medicine, and inpatient care.
* Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding to support clinical processes.
Basic qualifications
* Strong understanding of patient service principles and basic life support techniques.
* Familiarity with dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, geriatrics, internal medicine, and medical-surgical practices.
* Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable.
Preferred qualifications
* Previous hospital or clinic experience in areas such as Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or operating room (OR) settings.
* Proficiency in handling medical administrative support tasks efficiently.
