Social Worker
Staffordshire County Council has four Children’s Disability teams across the county, providing specialist services for children and young people with complex disabilities. These small teams of dedicated Social Workers support children and families to reach the best outcomes in a timely manner, enabling them to live their lives fully. You will work alongside skilled Family Practitioners who facilitate behaviour management and direct work.

Main Responsibilities
* Based within a small team of seven to eight social workers.
* Holding and managing a workload of children and young people and prioritising all work.
* Undertaking direct work with children and their families and carers, providing high support and challenge and aiming to help families find solutions to their own challenges.
* Providing high‑quality and timely assessments and reports in the agreed format for Court’s, Child Protection Case Conferences, Statutory Reviews and any other forum.
* Maintaining client records.
The Ideal Candidate
* Qualified Social Worker with post‑qualification experience working directly with children and families and committed to supporting children to remain with their families.
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with children, families and other professionals.
* Team player.
* Ability to engage and communicate with disabled children and committed to ensuring the children on your caseload receive the best quality service.
But above all, you’ll bring the desire to work with children and families to give them the right support, at the right time, with the aim of keeping families together where it’s safe to do so.
