NHS Lanarkshire is thrilled to announce a vacancy for Modern Apprenticeships in Healthcare and Healthcare Support within Lanarkshire Podiatry Department.
Key Details:
 * Locations: Based in Lanarkshire.
 * Duration: Fixed-term positions for 12 months starting from 20th of January 2026. Part-time hours available with pro-rata salary.
 * Eligibility: Applicants aged between 16 to 24 years old on 1st of December 2025, (or up to 29 years for applicants with a disability or those with care experience) are eligible. Must demonstrate proficiency at SCQF level 5/National 5 level.
What We Offer:
 * Training: Gain invaluable on-the-job training to develop essential healthcare skills.
 * Qualification: Work towards achieving a Level 6 SCQF qualification in Social Services and Healthcare or Healthcare Support, a nationally recognised qualification.
What We're Looking For:
 * Motivated Individuals: Highly motivated and committed individuals eager to join our Modern Apprenticeship programme.
 * Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to understand various procedures and processes.
 * Interest: A keen interest in healthcare roles, coupled with a positive approach to work and a passion for providing excellent patient care.
Duties as a Healthcare Support Worker may include:
 * Diabetes foot screening
 * Assist Podiatrist with nail surgery
 * Assist Podiatrist with domiciliary visits
 * Stock control
 * Record card archiving/mail duties
 * Helping patients to move around.
 * Making patients feel comfortable.
No Prior Experience Necessary: This Apprenticeship welcomes applicants with limited work experience, including school leavers.
