Description
As the Credit Controller, you'll take responsibility for the full credit control function, ensuring customer credit risk is well‑managed and that payments are collected in a timely and efficient manner. You will manage the sales ledger day‑to‑day, accurately allocating receipts and handling more complex scenarios ensuring everything is recorded correctly and in line with industry requirements.
A key part of your role will be monitoring customer accounts, identifying overdue balances, and taking proactive action to chase outstanding invoices. This includes issuing monthly statements, sending payment reminders, and maintaining a firm yet professional approach when dealing with late‑paying customers.
You will work closely with thew sider business to resolve invoice queries promptly, supporting them with accurate financial information and helping to keep projects running smoothly. Strong communication and relationship‑building will be essential, as you'll often be the link between finance and operational teams.
The role also involves assessing the creditworthiness of both new and existing customers, helping to set appropriate credit limits that protect the business while enabling sales growth. You'll produce regular aged debtor reports, provide insight into developing risks, and escalate long‑outstanding or high‑risk accounts to senior management when needed.
In addition to your day‑to‑day responsibilities, you'll support wider finance activities by contributing to month‑end and year‑end processes, ensuring financial data is accurate and up‑to‑date. Your work will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial stability and smooth running of the organisation.
Profile
The successful candidate will have proven experience in credit control and bring strong knowledge of aged debt management, relationship building and have a passion for credit control within a welcoming team.
Exposure to CIS and Reverse VAT is desirable and your ability to communicate and negotiation skills will be an essential along with a meticulous approach to accuracy and record‑keeping.
