We’re looking for a Planning Engineer to join our clients' nuclear team on a staff basis. Working under the leadership of a Programme Manager, you will help establish, develop, and maintain project schedules for training development and delivery at Hinkley Point C (HPC). You’ll play a key role in enabling informed decision-making to support timely and efficient project delivery. This role is full-time on-site in Bridgwater, Somerset, Monday to Friday.
Role Responsibilities:
* Support the NSA Programme Manager in implementing and maintaining Integrated Project Controls processes for Planning, including producing monthly reports with analysis.
* Collaborate with others to help deliver project goals aligned with HPC principles of Trust, Transparency, and Teamwork.
* Maintain awareness of schedule interfaces with other Programmes and their potential impacts.
* Produce and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera 6 (P6), with logic-linked work plans aligned to Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) using approved construction techniques.
* Update the Level 2 IWS for monthly reporting as per schedule.
* Update HPC Level 3 schedules to reflect work progress and performance, within the agreed timeframe.
* Ensure contractor schedules follow HPC processes and align with the IWS forecast.
* Maintain daily and weekly work planning in 4D model.
* Conduct quality checks on scheduling data.
* Identify, analyze, and provide solutions to time-related issues.
* Coordinate and produce schedule reports according to the reporting cycle.
* Assist in Trend & Change processes, analyzing schedule impacts, generating performance indicators, and providing feedback on risks and opportunities.
* Adhere to project governance and scheduling standards and procedures.
* Ensure all project documents, especially Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly marked and protected according to EDF policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques.
* Practical knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction methods in the UK context.
* Ability to produce accurate, logic-linked construction plans.
* Good working knowledge of P6.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
