Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join a reputable nursery in Witney, Oxfordshire, providing high-quality childcare and education to children aged 0-5 years in a nurturing and supportive environment. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursery team, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care, and contributing to the development of engaging and interactive activities that promote learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging and interactive activities, promoting learning and development in a nurturing environment, and supporting the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
Provide emotional support and care to children, establishing positive relationships with them and their families, and maintaining effective communication with parents and colleagues
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised nursery environment, adhering to strict health and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation
Collaborate with the nursery team to ensure seamless daily operations, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive excellence in childcare, and contributing to the development of policies and procedures
Develop and maintain accurate records of children’s progress, attending meetings and contributing to parent-teacher conferences as required, and supporting the assessment and tracking of children’s development
Required Skills & Experience
Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (or equivalent), such as a childcare diploma or a degree in early childhood education
Proven experience working in a nursery setting, with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and relevant childcare legislation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, and to build strong relationships with families and the wider community
First aid and safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake), and a commitment to ongoing professional development and training
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo), and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection
