We are looking for a Team Manager to cover sickness within our Child in Need and Child Protection Service in Macclesfield based at Macclesfield Town Hall.
The post is a full-time post covering the hours of 8:30 to 5:00 – Monday to Friday with the expectation to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Within the Child in Need and Child Protection Service, we cover cases from the front door (so duty is managed within the service) through CIN and CP and PLO. Where care proceedings are issued with a plan of removal outside of the family, the case will transfer to the Cared for Children’s Team.
We are looking for a candidate with management experience and a background in child protection. The expectations of the manager is to –
– Manager a team of Social Workers, Family Support Worker and Social Work Apprentices.
– Manage duty on a rota of one day every 4 days (it is expected that managers are in the office on their duty day).
– Allocate work to the team.
– Chair strategy meetings and pre-proceedings meetings.
– Provide reflective supervision to staff.
– Drive practice standards within the team as part of our improvement journey.

You must have:
1. A professional qualification in social work
2. Social Work England registration.
3. Post qualified experience.
4. Enhanced DBS/Update service.
5. References required for the last 5 years of employment.
