An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading F1 team for the 2026 season. As a Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for the car's performance and data analysis at race and test events. Your role will involve optimizing car performance through simulation, telemetry analysis, and ensuring the car is set up to the required specifications. You will play a key role in shaping the team's performance both on and off the track.

Key Responsibilities:
* Foster teamwork and effective communication across departments to drive optimal performance.
* Support the Race Engineer in all aspects of performance and data analysis.
* Collaborate with the Driver Coach to identify balance limitations and suggest setup improvements.
* Perform lap time simulation work for pre-event preparation, in-event analysis, and post-event correlation.
* Recommend setup changes based on simulation or track data analysis.
* Manage setup sheets and files for both car build and simulation.
* Monitor telemetry data for both reliability and performance metrics.
* Run simulator sessions when required, including travel to Italy.
* Develop and implement data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Excel VBA).
* Provide overlays for the driver during and after sessions.
* Suggest development directions based on detailed data analysis.
* Evaluate and analyze technical data, including simulation, tyre, and 7-post data.
* Publish post-event performance reports.
* Adhere to all safety regulations during events and in the workplace.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A degree in Engineering or a related field.
* A minimum of 3 years of trackside engineering experience, preferably within Formula 1, as a Race or Performance Engineer.
* Experience in other racing formulas is a plus.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Solid technical background in racing car performance and vehicle dynamics.
* Experience with car/system design, operation, and preparation.
* Ability to work to a consistently high standard in stressful, time-sensitive situations.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
* Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate at all levels.
Equipment and Applications:
* Extensive knowledge of ATLAS.
* Proficiency in MATLAB.
* Good understanding of lap time simulation tools and simulator environments.
Additional Information:
The role will involve extensive international travel and require flexibility with hours, including weekends. The work environment is fast-paced and mentally demanding. Candidates must be able to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a methodical approach.
