Your Role as Third in Charge
As Third in Charge, you will be a vital part of our leadership team, ensuring the effective daily running of the nursery. You will assist the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager, step into leadership duties in their absence, and support practitioners to deliver excellent early years experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire a small group within your room, ensuring a rich learning environment
* Be an example of best practice, helping to sustain a fun and engaging atmosphere
* Support staff growth through mentoring, feedback, and encouragement
* Assist with nursery tasks such as opening and closing, rotas, and parent interactions
* Build meaningful relationships with parents, carers, and the broader nursery team
* Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and health and safety policies
What We're Looking For
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare (or equivalent)
* At least three years of experience in a nursery environment
* A solid understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
* Passionate about early years education with excellent people and leadership skills
* Experience in a senior or leadership role (preferred but not essential)
