Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant (Part-Time, 1:1 Support)
Location: The Nursery Oxford
Hours: 2 days per week, 4–6 hours per day
Age Group: 2–3 years
We are a small, friendly nursery in Summertown, Oxford, dedicated to creating a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported. Our team works closely with families to ensure each child thrives during these crucial early years.
We are seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a young child with additional needs. This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in helping the child feel secure, included, and ready to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personalised, 1:1 support to meet the child's individual needs throughout the nursery day.
* Build a trusting, supportive relationship with the child, encouraging their confidence and independence.
* Work closely with nursery staff, parents, and external professionals to follow and adapt the child's support plan.
* Help the child engage with play and learning activities, fostering their social and emotional development.
* Monitor and record progress, sharing observations with the team and family.
* Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the nursery.
About You:
* Experience working with young children, particularly those with SEN, is essential.
* Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic about supporting children's development.
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Understanding of early years development and inclusive practices.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Early Years or SEN training) are desirable but not essential.
Hours & Pay:
* 2 days per week (4–6 hours per day).
* Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience and qualifications.
