Charity Jobs NI, part of the Happy Jobs group, is partnering with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit a proactive, organized, and dedicated Local Environmental Quality Coordinator. This role involves coordinating environmental quality initiatives, managing stakeholder engagement, supervising departmental officers, and ensuring the successful delivery of programs related to environmental sustainability.
About Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful: A charity committed to enhancing the environment and communities through local initiatives and sustainable living promotion.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Managing resources and delivering program outputs effectively within budget and deadlines.
2. Leading planning, implementation, and reporting of environmental initiatives.
3. Coordinating certification programs like Blue Flag, Green Flag, and conducting surveys.
4. Developing community participation in sustainability initiatives.
5. Acting as the primary contact, representing the charity at events, and preparing content for platforms.
6. Supporting research and policy analysis related to environmental sustainability.
7. Managing stakeholder communications and assisting in marketing efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Essential: Relevant degree or three years' experience; at least 1 year in surveying/auditing; 2 years in program delivery; 1 year in staff supervision.
* Desirable: Experience in data analysis, voluntary sector, or local government roles.
Skills: Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office).
Licence: Full driving license and access to transport.
Knowledge & Understanding: Environmental issues (essential); Behaviour change principles (desirable).
Personal Qualities: Effective team and independent working, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements: Occasional travel within Northern Ireland, flexibility for beyond-standard hours. Hours: Flexible, between 8am - 6pm, with core hours 10am - 4pm, Monday to Friday. Hybrid work (2 days in Belfast).
Salary: £30,328. Contract: Permanent, subject to funding. Funding source: DAERA Environment Fund.
