Role Overview As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will assist children and young people who face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. You’ll support their day-to-day learning and development while encouraging positive behaviours and boosting their self-esteem through consistent and personalised support. Role Responsibilities Provide classroom and one-to-one behaviour support, tailored to each pupil’s needs. Use strategies to de-escalate situations and manage emotional outbursts. Foster resilience, respect, and engagement within the learning environment. Promote positive interactions and assist with social skill-building. Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals. Candidate Requirements Prior experience working with students with SEMH or in a behavioural role is highly desirable. Confidence, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused attitude. A genuine commitment to safeguarding and improving pupil outcomes. Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
