The role will proactively deliver student and administrative support to develop, deliver, and enhance the Abertay Online offer. The post holder will collaborate with existing professional services and Faculty staff to provide a student-focused, professional service that promotes student attainment. A key task will be building effective working relationships with Higher Education Partner (HEP) staff who recruit and monitor student engagement. The role reports to the Head of Abertay Online and aims to continually improve the quality of the student and staff experience.
Role Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. Build effective working relationships with HEP staff involved in student recruitment and engagement monitoring.
2. Serve as the first point of contact for student escalation issues internally and from HEP, working with colleagues across the university and HEP to resolve issues in line with Abertay regulations and policies, supporting students while addressing root causes to prevent recurrence.
3. Coordinate and schedule new programme and module development activities for faculty staff, adhering to specific timelines.
4. Participate actively in improvement activities and projects, contributing to the continuous enhancement of processes and procedures to streamline activities.
5. Assist in drafting and updating process documents and operations manuals under the guidance of the Head of Abertay Online Programmes, proactively identifying common issues and developing guidance for HEP and Abertay staff.
6. Work with the Head of Abertay Online to establish a network across the university and HEP, ensuring that process implications are considered and priorities effectively communicated.
7. Regularly review and audit Abertay Online data, collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Student Academic Services (SAcS) and Planning to improve datasets for performance reporting, ensuring data accuracy.
8. Act as an internal expert and guide on Abertay Online processes and procedures.
9. Support and potentially lead the day-to-day relationships with HEP partners.
10. Deputise for the Head of Abertay Online Programmes as needed.
11. Perform other duties as required by the AbLE Academy.
