Hours of work: Home based with at least 50% site presence, Monday - Friday
Are you an early-career or mid-level Occupational Hygienist looking to build hands-on experience, work on varied sites, and make a real difference to worker health? This is a hands-on, technical role focused on exposure assessment, interpretation, and practical control.
We're looking for a motivated Occupational Hygienist to join our Health, Safety & Environment team on an exciting 12-18-month contract. This role is ideal for post-graduates or professionals with 1-2+ years of occupational hygiene experience who want to develop their technical skills, grow their professional standing, and work on meaningful, real-world projects.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:
Occupational Hygiene Degree or Diploma
BOHS modules (e.g. M503 / M505 / M506 / M507 / W503)
Professional membership of the BOHS Faculty of Occupational Hygiene
(Licentiate LFOH / LFOH(S) or higher)
Proven experience delivering occupational hygiene assessments and reports in operational environments
Strong working knowledge of exposure monitoring and noise assessment
Desirable:
CertOH (or working towards)
Experience with IAQ investigations, LEV testing or Legionella risk assessments
RPE / face fit testing competence
Role Information:
Planning and delivering occupational exposure monitoring (dusts, fumes, vapours, gases, metals)
Conducting workplace noise surveys in line with Control of Noise at Work Regulations
Leading and supporting assessments for:
COSHH
HAVS / WBV
Welding fumes
IAQ
LEV performance (where competent)
Thermal stress and Legionella (where competent)
Interpreting results against WELs / EH40 and producing clear, concise reports
Advising on pragmatic control measures - engineering first, then procedural and PPE
Supporting the wider Health, Safety & Environment team to embed good occupational hygiene practice
Maintaining monitoring equipment, QA records and ISO-aligned documentation
