Maintenance Officer – Bristol

At Iris Care Group we provide the full pathway of services for people with learning disabilities, Autism, mental health issues and personality disorder, along with neurodegenerative conditions and Acquired Brain Injury. We provide treatment and care for complex mental health conditions.
Our domiciliary care, supported living, residential and nursing services allow people to live independent, and meaningful lives in the community, whilst our specialist hospitals provide, assessment, care and treatment. Our Special Educational Needs college provides residential and day placements to young people and adults.
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Officer to ensure the ongoing safety, functionality and upkeep of our properties around Bristol and Wiltshire (Swindon, Marlborough and Chippenham). You will work across a several sites (8 in total), responding to maintenance requests and carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Reporting to the Estates Manager you will be required to carry out and oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all company property across the ICG Group.
5. The Maintenance Officer will carry out and complete maintenance work as stipulated under the company maintenance request system.
6. The Maintenance Officer will be called upon to carry out general carpentry repairs, painting and decorating, glazing, tiling, flooring, plumbing and general cleaning duties including jet washing and drain clearance. There will also be a requirement to carry out general repairs to furniture, fittings and finishes where damage has occurred.
7. To carry out various checks including scheduled testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, water temperatures, generators as required.
8. Escorting external contractors, specialists and visitors on company properties as and when required ensuring their Health & Safety.
9. Reporting to the Estates Manager on any defective / faulty plant and equipment as well as any damages / defects to building structures, finishes or fittings.
About you:
10. Proven experience in maintenance role preferably within housing, care or supported living environments
11. Strong general repair skills (multi-trade)
12. Good understanding of health and safety regulations
13. Excellent time management and the ability to work independently
14. Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive between sites (company van provided)
15. friendly, respectful and professional attitude when working in residents’ homes
