We re putting together a brand-new team to support a fantastic young man, Callum, as he takes a big and exciting step moving into his very first home! Callum is full of personality and has lots of interests to share. He s been attending college for the past two years, where he's settled in brilliantly and built some great friendships. Now, he s looking forward to building his independence with a team who really gets him. What s important for Callum? Callum loves to see you smile and show that you re happy to be spending time with him. He enjoys being alongside his support team encouraging him, praising him, and getting involved in his favourite activities. Callum s favourite things include: Splashing and relaxing with water play Watching everything from Mrs Browns Boys to High School Musical on his iPad Getting outdoors walking in any weather! Callum is a big fan of litter picking and keeping active A love for structure and busy, purposeful days IND1 What we re looking for in you: Upbeat, encouraging, and patient someone who takes time to build trust Physically active and happy to be out walking in all kinds of weather Confident working with others Callum s family will be a big part of this journey and we ll work closely together Willing to be part of a small, consistent team that puts Callum at the heart of everything You don't have to have any past care experience but a kind, caring, creative and patient attitude is a must. We will train you on all the formal key skills you will need in terms of Emergency first aid, safeguarding and giving medication. We hold a number of training courses that you will be expected to attend whilst you are working with MacIntyre, but don t worry, you will be given plenty of notice. You must however have a resilient, patient and compassionate attitude as there may be times where you will need to help Jack control and regulate his emotions and anxiety in line with his Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan. But please do not worry, full training on this will be provided Driving isn t essential while Jack has a mobility car, he s just as happy on public transport or walking.
