We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at the Tarmac Newbigging Sand & Gravel Quarry in Lanark, South Lanarkshire. The site is accessible from Glasgow, Peebles, Broughton, Falkirk, Grangemouth, Broxburn, Larkhill, Motherwell, Carluke, Bellshill, Hamilton, Kirkintilloch, Rutherglen, Bishopbriggs, and surrounding areas.

Role Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Multi Skilled Operative will be part of a team producing dry aggregates for the construction industry, ensuring top health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
1. Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
2. Operate mobile plant and machinery.
3. Assist the Supervisor in meeting production targets.
4. Ensure plant safety compliance at all times.
5. Maintain health, safety, environmental, and quality responsibilities.
6. Conduct inspections, identify defects, and implement remedial actions.
7. Assist in plant maintenance.
8. Maximize plant availability.
9. Maintain high standards of site housekeeping.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience in an industrial or factory environment, good communication skills, and a desire to develop operative and supervisory skills.
We expect candidates to demonstrate:
1. Knowledge of plant operations, preferably in quarry or mobile plant environments.
2. Flexibility and ability to work effectively in a team.
3. Self-motivation and ability to motivate others.
4. Good timekeeping and flexibility regarding unit requirements.
5. Strong communication skills to raise issues with management.
6. Full UK driving license.
7. IT literacy.
8. Shovel license (desirable, training provided).
Previous experience in quarry or asphalt plant operations is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.
