Our oil & gas operator Client is currently seeking a Senior Well Abandonment Engineer to work on a temporary agency contract in the UK.
Responsibilities include:
* Work as part of the onshore platform well abandonment team to prepare well abandonment basis of design, create well programmes, prepare examination and notification/consents, prepare time and cost estimates, etc.
* Support Superintendent and rig teams with technical and planning work, including operations, contingencies, problem solving to allow rig operations to be safely, efficiently and cost effectively executed.
* Plan and execute well operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively in accordance with company objectives, policies and procedures.
* Ensure well design and operations comply with legislation and good oilfield practice.
* Design P&A activities and create well programmes in compliance with the Management System by analysing offset data, generating and evaluating design options, assessing risk, preparing detailed design and programme documents.
* Create reports for the company and legislative bodies by compiling operations information and performance analysis to provide an as-installed record of events and well components.
Applicants should:
* Be degree qualified in a relevant technical/engineering discipline.
* Have extensive experience as a Senior Well Abandonment Engineer supporting platform drilling, completion, intervention and abandonment operations.
* Have a high level of technical expertise in drilling/completion engineering and operations, well services and well abandonment with a proven ability to deal with complex scenarios, challenging environments and develop creative solutions.
* Have experience working in an operator environment on mature assets (advantageous).
* Have a valid IWCF Level 4 certificate for subsea activities to Supervisor level.
This role may include offshore travel; therefore all industry competency certifications (BOSIET with CA-EBS, Medical and MIST) are required.
