Are you passionate about supporting young people who need a different approach to education? We are recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive alternative provision in Burgess Hill.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role:
* Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner
* Help deliver tailored learning activities to meet individual needs
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support engagement and progress
* Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to provide consistent support
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour
* Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
* A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations
* Team Teach or similar training is desirable (but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
