Job Title: Senior Pricing Analyst - Modelling\n\nLocations: hybrid working for our Manchester Office (Salford)\n\nRole Overview\n\nMarkerstudy Group are looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst (Modelling) to join a growing and established team.\n\nYou will be responsible for utilising your technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry and market leading tools to produce creative and actionable pricing solutions. This is to maximise Atlanta’s ability to meet its strategy and annual plan but should also influence that strategy through regular identification of opportunities to Pricing Managers, Head of Pricing and the Executive Committee. This role requires a large element of coaching team members and championing modelling best practices across the department.\n\nAs a Senior Pricing Analyst - Modelling, you will use your advanced analytical skills to:\n\nProvide technical leadership on WTW toolkit (in particular Emblem and Radar) to drive forward effective and efficient solutions which deliver business requirements and add demonstrable value\n\t\nProvide thought leadership on modelling concepts\n\t\nLead and manage the development of effective and efficient solutions which deliver business requirements and add demonstrable value\n\t\nEnsure that all team members follow quality assurance processes and manage risk adhering to all relevant policies\n\t\nResearch, develop and champion the use of best practice methods and standards and ensure they are embedded throughout the department\n\t\nPlan, design and lead the development of Atlanta's pricing capability.\n\t\nThrough ongoing research, maintain an extensive knowledge of statistical techniques to ensure Atlanta has a market leading approach to analysis and modelling.\n\t\nAssist Pricing Managers in making tactical and strategic decisions.\n\t\nDeputise for Pricing Managers, Head of Pricing\n\nKey Skills and Experience:\n\nPrevious experience within general insurance pricing\n\t\nExperience with some of the following predictive modelling techniques; Logistic Regression, GBMs, Elastic Net GLMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural Nets and Clustering\n\t\nExperience in statistical and data science programming languages (e.g.
R, Python, PySpark, SAS, SQL)\n\t\nA quantitative degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science)\n\t\nProven experience of modelling using WTW toolkit (Emblem and Radar)\n\t\nProficient at communicating results in a concise manner both verbally and written\n\nBehaviours:\n\nSelf-motivated with a drive to learn and develop\n\t\nLogical thinker with a professional and positive attitude\n\t\nPassion to innovate, improve processes and challenge the norm\n\nAbout the business:\n\nMarkerstudy is a leading provider of private insurance in the UK, insuring around 5% of the private cars on the UK roads, 20% of commercial vehicles and over 30% of motorcycles in total premium levels of circa £1.2b.
