Join the Ulverston District Nurses as a registered nurse in a supportive team dedicated to high-quality, person-centered care for residents of Dalton and surrounding villages.
This role involves 22.5 hours weekly over 3 days, including weekends, bank holidays, evenings, and potentially nights, working within the Furness out of hours team across a 7-day, 365-day schedule.
Main duties of the job
Provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care as a registered Nurse within Community Services, supporting team leadership, supervising staff, and delegating tasks according to skills.
The small Ulverston team comprises full and part-time nurses and a healthcare support worker, managed by the Assistant Team Leads and supported by the Team Lead.

Our services operate from Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital, and various community healthcare premises, including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
Services range from emergency and inpatient care to outpatient diagnostics, therapies, and community outreach across Morecambe Bay.

Qualifications
* Final year Nursing student
* Mentorship/supporting learners qualification
* V150 prescriber
* Academic courses in palliative and wound care
Experience
* Palliative and wound care experience
* Time management, IT systems, documentation
* Delegation, supervision, shift leadership
* Continence care, advanced communication, counselling, work allocation
Clinical skills
* Wound assessment, venepuncture, holistic assessment, compression therapy
Personal attributes
* Self-motivated, outgoing, friendly
* Lone working and community-based experience
