As a key player in our commitment to exceptional hospitality, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, stepping in as their deputy when needed. Your role will involve managing and supporting our supervisors and on-site team to uphold the highest standards across service, operations, recruitment, and health & safety. You’ll be pivotal in ensuring Corner Corner delivers an outstanding guest experience and remains a vibrant, rewarding workplace for our team.
In this fast-paced, people-focused role, you’ll lead initiatives around stock & equipment management (including consumables), ordering, recruitment, and training. You’ll be responsible for coaching and developing both floor & BOH teams, ensuring they’re supported and empowered to deliver operational excellence while maintaining a positive and productive environment.
Your ability to coach, develop, and drive the teams and the operational processes onsite will be crucial to success in this role.
What you'll be doing
* Support and assist the General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the business at all times, including reporting, team development and compliance
* Responsible for day-to-day ordering, stock control and management of the senior team and accountability in these areas.
* Ownership of team schedules, managing team rotas in line with forecasts & budget.
* Shift leading, opening & closing the venue, drafting and delivering impactful team briefings and handovers, leading the team from the front in shift, and driving high standards and sales through high team energy and morale
* Day-to-day line management responsibility for supervisors, including 121s clearly communicating expectations, priorities and deliverables (translating these into actions and training plans)
* Be the first point of contact for the team/supervisors/traders, across all areas of operations day-to-day.
* Lead our team and traders by example, be an ambassador for KERB and CornerCorner at all times, you will not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in whether that’s jumping on the bar or clearing tables
* Understanding of operating to budgets, to control costs across the business each week in line with monthly P&L targets.
* Responsible for ensuring that CornerCorner is legally compliant with H&S, Food Hygiene, fire regulations, licensing laws and sales of goods/trading standards
* In collaboration with support teams, implement and develop/oversee Epos, H&S, & Reservations systems
* Work closely with Event Sales Manager assisting with the production and execution of events and activations
* Drive on-site practices in line with our company's sustainability policy
What you'll bring to KERB
* Personal License Holder
* Experience managing hospitality teams in a fast-paced, demanding restaurant, bar or food hall environment
* A well-organised manager able to manage their own daily workload and manage the team
* Strong people management skills, working with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver high-performing teams who work hard but have a whole lot of fun whilst they’re doing it
* Excellent communication skills, confidence with guests, and traders, and developing long-term relationships.
* Comfortable managing teams, in a fast-paced and high-volume venue
* A flexible approach to working hours as the role will require evening and weekend work
* An interest and understanding of London's street food industry and wider food scene.
* Positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and willing to problem-solve.
