Opportunity for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at an independent Health Centre Pharmacy in Murieston
The position is for 20 hours per week.
The working pattern has some flexibilty but the ideal would be Mondays 2-6pm, Tuesdays 2-6pm, Wednesdays 9am-6pm, Thursdays 9am-1pm.
Flexibility to do extra hours to help cover staff annual leave and absences from time to time is also desirable.
This role would suit someone looking to start a career in Community Pharmacy or someone looking for career progression in a well-managed and organised environment.
Some pharmacy experience is advantageous although full pharmacy training can be provided for the right candidate looking to start a career in pharmacy.
The role involves shifts during the pharmacy opening hours of 9.00am-6.00pm weekdays .

The pharmacy assistant will work under the direct supervision of the pharmacist and will carry out day-to-day activities connected with the preparation and supply of medicines and will provide advice to patients on the use of medicines as well as on general health and lifestyle matters.
Primary responsibilities
* To work as part of a team supporting the pharmacy manager in providing excellent customer service & patient care to help grow the pharmacy business.
* To handle customer queries & process prescription items in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure safe supply to patients;
* To ensure at the point of sale, the safe and correct supply of dispensed items to patients;
* To advise patients on retail purchases of medicines and other healthcare related products
* To work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.
Person specification
* Pharmacy experience or qualifications desirable e.g. Medicines Counter Assistant course and/or NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or NPA Accredited Dispensing Assistant Course (or equivalent)/ Further training will be provided if necessary.
* Methodical and accurate approach to practical tasks;
* Commitment to continuing professional development and training;
* Trustworthy and understanding of confidentiality issues;
* High level of concentration;
* Strong communication and excellent customer service skills;
* Professional, tactful and friendly attitude;
* Ability to work effectively to deadlines

* Ability to pass a DBS criminal record check.
