Overview

Job Overview A very exciting opportunity has arisen within our Senior Leadership team in the Community, Older People’s Medicine and Palliative Care Directorate here at Frimley Health. We are looking for a dynamic Senior Nurse to join us as our new Clinical Matron at Farnham Hospital. The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior Nurse to build upon and advance their leadership, clinical and managerial skills whilst being supported by the Divisional Head of Nursing, Nurse Consultant for Frailty, other Clinical Matrons, Ward Sisters, Clinical Senior Nurses, and Service Managers to deliver quality care.


Responsibilities

* You will report to the Deputy Head of Nursing in the delivery of high-quality patient care, promote patient safety and good patient experiences across the rehab wards at Farnham Hospital.
* You will work alongside the Deputy Head of Nursing in supporting the delivery of our strategic ambitions within the Directorate.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* NMC Registered Nurse.
* Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience.
* Recognised teaching and assessing qualification.
* Management certificate or equivalent experience.

Desirable criteria

* Post registration qualification or University Degree.
* Master’s degree or equivalent experience gained by undertaking ongoing personal development and training.
* Management/Leadership Qualification.


Experience

Essential criteria

* Demonstrable experience Significant experience at senior clinical/managerial level.
* Experience of working as a clinical leader.
* Proven leadership and management skills.
* Experience of caseload management including responsibility for complex care packages for vulnerable people.
* Involvement in the implementation and management of change.


Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria

* Understands the concepts of clinical governance and shared governance including evidence based practice and critical appraisal of research findings.
* Demonstrates knowledge of effective risk management.
* Knowledge and experience of management models, implementing change and/or new clinical practices and current professional issues.
* Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
