On level 3, we have 20 beds for pre- and post-surgery patients undergoing day surgery procedures, including a full range of surgical specialties.
We also run urology, chronic pain clinics, and ophthalmology surgeries from units on levels 1 and 2, where you will work alongside nurses and clinicians providing diagnostic services such as cystoscopies, precision point biopsies, and outpatient one-stop clinics.
Responsibilities include:
* Participate in the Trust Appraisal and Personal Development programs.
* Plan your development needs and agree on development plans with a clinical supervisor or mentor.
* Report untoward incidents and handle patient or relative complaints appropriately.
* Ensure your clinical practice is safe and appropriate at all times.
* Assist registered nurses in benchmarking clinical standards.
* Keep mandatory and competency-based training up to date.
* Support equality, diversity, rights, and quality in your actions.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of healthcare standards and service improvements.
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal. We also have community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various consultant-led services. WGH provides general hospital services along with an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three hospitals provide outpatient, diagnostic, therapeutic, day case, and inpatient surgery services, along with outreach services across Morecambe Bay.
