Main Purpose:
The Community Pastor at Destiny Temple develops teams and pathways designed to help people move from a first time visit to a fully assimilated and engaged member of the Destiny Temple family.
The Community Pastor ensures every member gets quality Pastoral care.
The Community Pastor is to lead the Church in outreach and link the Church to Gloucester community.
The Community Pastor at Destiny Temple creates an environment where members can build and foster healthy relationships and have both a place and a sense of Belonging.
In summary, the Community Pastor serves as a spiritual leader and guide within the community, responsible for nurturing the faith of congregants and fostering a welcoming environment. This role involves preaching, teaching, and providing pastoral care to individuals and families. The Pastor will engage with the community through various activities, including worship services, educational programmes, and outreach initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:
Our Pastor of Community helps our members and guests develop richer, more meaningful relationships by:
· Developing teams and pathways that effectively facilitate movement from guest to friend to family (strategies may include, but aren't limited to Bible Studies, small groups, retreats, conferences, hospitality, ushers, greeters, special events, etc...)
· Developing teams and pathways to help our members become fully engaged (All in Christ, All in community, all involved, all investing, all inviting)
· Working with the service coordinators to ensure that verbal announcements on Sunday mornings are prioritized and presented in an effective manner.
· Working with the Deacons to facilitate our annual membership renewal process.
Our Community Pastor oversees care for our growing community by:
· Working with the Elders to provide oversight for our prayer ministries (altar ministry, prayer requests, etc...)
· Developing teams and strategies to celebrate with and care for our church family.
· Developing teams and strategies to walk with individuals and families through significant life events such as weddings, funerals, hospitalizations, crises, professions of faith, baptisms, and dedications.
· Ensuring that we have exceptional measures in place to protect our church family physically, emotionally, and spiritually whenever they are under our care.
Our Community Pastor promotes a healthy team culture by:
· Developing and implementing community-building strategies for staff
· Encouraging and equipping the Team Departmental Leaders to apply similar strategies with their own teams.
· Calling out behaviours and attitudes that negatively affect team health and facilitating reconciliation when conflicts and disagreements occur among staff members.
· Supervising staff as assigned by the Senior Pastor
Ensure effective communication and administration by:
· Ensuring that requests for information are responded to promptly, professionally, and warmly. (Connection Cards, phone calls, general emails, etc...)
· Ensuring that Destiny Temple resources are well stocked, well organized, and well stewarded.
· Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies
· Developing and overseeing departmental budgets
The Community Pastor will serve as part of Destiny Temple Preaching and Teaching team by:
· Providing input as the Senior Pastor maps out the scope, sequence and sermon series for the coming year
· Developing and presenting sermons at various times throughout the year
· Functioning as a potential back-up to the Senior Pastor with an "emergency sermon" at the ready
The community Pastor at Destiny Temple will offer pastoral care to parishioners by:
· Assimilation: Ensure that no one is left behind. Every member is plugged in to the church community by coming up with strategies to "Open the front doors wide and shut the back doors."
· Counselling – Give Biblical counsel to church members.
· Prayers – Pray with Church members during the service altar calls and weekly prayer meeting.
· Visitations – Visit Church members in their homes who are either Celebrating, Sick or needs encouragement.
· Communion – While visiting the elderly and those who can't come to church service, offer, and lead communion in their homes.
Strategize on how the Connect groups and Destiny Team work together in synergy:
· The connect groups include: Destiny Men (Men's Ministry), Women of Destiny (Women's Ministry), Destiny Youth (Youth Ministry), Children's Church, etc
· The Teams involved are: Welcome Team, Host Team, Prayer Team,
Community outreach:
· Ensure that the church community is engaged in the local community e.g. by fostering partnership with Foodbank, Gloucester City Missions for the homeless, etc.
· Lead outreach events in the community, etc.

· Taking initiative to build and strengthen relationships with co-workers, volunteers, and others who consider Destiny Temple their church home.

* Provide spiritual guidance and counselling to individuals and families in need.
* Conduct religious ceremonies such as weddings, baptisms, and funerals.
* Develop and implement educational programmes for all age groups within the congregation.

* Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to organise worship services and church functions.
* Maintain open lines of communication with congregants to address their spiritual needs.
* Encourage participation in church activities, promoting a sense of belonging among members.
Qualifications and needed Skills.

* Has a mature faith and pursues a God-honouring lifestyle.
* Strong public speaking abilities to effectively communicate messages during sermons and teachings.
* Excellent communication skills for engaging with congregants and the wider community.
* Proficient in teaching concepts of faith in an accessible manner to diverse audiences.
* Ability to connect with individuals on a personal level, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
* Experience or interest in dancing can enhance worship experiences through creative expression. This role requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about serving others and committed to fostering a vibrant spiritual community.

* Can support the Senior Pastor by providing leadership for the entire staff and congregation in the Senior Pastor's absence.

Academic and work Experience:
At least three years of full-time employment as an Associate Pastor is preferred.
A theological degree o diploma from an accredited Seminary, college or university is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £24,420.00-£25,000.00 per year
