Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Health Care Assistant to work in our busy MIU and UTC.
Key Responsibilities
* Work day-to-day with a multi‑disciplinary team, caring for patients with minor injuries or ailments referred via 111, other health professionals, or self‑presenting to the unit.
* Manage own clinical workload and activities delegated under the supervision of practitioners.
* Support the Registered Clinical Staff in providing high‑quality, individualised care to patients, their relatives and carers who attend the Urgent Treatment Centre and MIU.
* Deliver wound management, burn care, patient observations, and assist with clinical investigations.
* Provide minor injury care including pop application, splints and slings.
* Respond dynamically and flexibly to the needs of the service and manage resources effectively.
* Deliver high‑quality, best practice, evidence‑based care to patients of all ages.
* Show a commitment to personal and professional development at all times.
Required Competencies & Qualifications
* Computer literate; experience with System 1 is an advantage, with full training provided.
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
* Applicants requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible for this position.
