ASC Teaching Assistant High Peak September start
Are you an experienced ASC, SEMH, or PTSD SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next role? Are you confident supporting students in secondary school?
We are currently supporting a school in High Peak that is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, empathetic, and reliable ASC SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team for the upcoming academic year.
The role will start in September, is full-time, and will continue throughout the academic year, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will support pupils aged 7 to 16 years old, working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis at times. The school requires someone with a good, strong understanding of ASC, trauma, and brain injuries, capable of establishing boundaries while building positive relationships with students. Ideally, you will be Team Teach trained. There may be times when pupils display some behavioral difficulties.
The team at this school is dedicated to working closely with parents and carers to provide the best possible outcomes for each child. They offer various enrichment activities that encourage pupils to progress across different aspects of the curriculum.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications
* Previous experience providing personal care with young people (desirable)
* Previous experience working with young people with ASD or PTSD (essential)
* Experience working with young people (referenceable)
* Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (essential, but training can be provided)
* Up-to-date Prevent awareness training issued within the last 3 years (essential, but training can be provided)
* Up-to-date behavior management & FGM training (essential, but training can be provided)
Eligibility Criteria
* Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide two professional child-related references
* Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically Autism (ASD/ASC)
* Previous support work, TA, or LSA experience within a UK school or related setting
* A caring and professional manner, willing to support with pupils' personal care
