Overview:
We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Children's Residential Care Workers. You will play a vital role in supporting children and young people in residential care, helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and emotional support for children and young people in the home.
* Create a nurturing, safe, and structured environment that promotes positive routines and wellbeing.
* Support young people in developing life skills, independence, and confidence.
* Assist with education, leisure, and recreational activities, encouraging engagement and participation.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with children, acting as a role model and advocate.
* Manage challenging behaviour calmly and appropriately, using de-escalation techniques where necessary.
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed to protect the welfare of children.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, healthcare professionals, and families to provide consistent support.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
* Participate in training, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people (residential care experience desirable but not essential).
* Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care.
* Strong communication, resilience, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
* Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care (desirable, or willingness to work towards).
