Job description
The Networks Category Management Team leads on the sourcing and management of Defence wide networks and network services contracts working with delivery teams to deliver some of the most complex and challenging commercial requirements for technology within the department. The team also provides independent professional advice on commercial matters, ensures compliance with relevant legislation and MOD policy, and negotiates and manages contracts that achieve value for money. It develops procurement strategies, runs tender exercises, negotiations, and awards contracts in accordance with legislation and policy.
As a Commercial Officer for Mobile, Voice and Video Systems within the Networks Category Team you will contribute to:
* Supporting the contract management of multiple service management contracts covering a number of live Defence wide services in the Mobile, Voice and Video Team.
* Support sourcing (re-procurement and new procurements) of the MOD's mobile capabilities in mobile voice and data, and also fixed telecommunication and audio-visual conferencing solutions at all classifications – including single source procurement via single source contract regulations.
* Support category management activities, building on market analysis and developing a clear understanding of historical and forecast spend along with future technical strategies to ensure that there is an effective route to market for sourcing.

Location
MOD Corsham, Wiltshire (SN13 9ET) as base location.
This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (the permanent duty station), which is based on business assessment of where the work is best done) and working from home as a personal choice (if the role is suitable for this).
