What We're Looking For
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Teaching Fellow in Professional Practice and Work‑Based Learning to join the School of Engineering and Built Environment. Appointment will be at either Lecturer or Teaching Fellow level depending on experience and profile.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and deliver modules focused on reflective practice, professional development, and competency‑based learning.
* Guide students in producing portfolios and work‑based projects mapped to PSRB frameworks and apprenticeship standards.
* Facilitate tripartite meetings with employers and workplace mentors to support apprentices in achieving End Point Assessment/Apprenticeship Assessment.
* Support curriculum development, quality assurance, and the enhancement of experiential learning strategies.
* Strengthen employer engagement, graduate employability, and industry collaboration.
Required experience and qualifications:
* Substantial professional experience in the built environment sector.
* Strong understanding of apprenticeship frameworks and work‑based learning approaches.
* Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIOB, RICS) is highly desirable.
* PhD not essential; industry expertise and a commitment to innovative teaching are preferred.
