Hays Senior Finance are partnering with a true specialist within the logistics and wholesale world. Every day, we serve more than 22,000 customers from 34 distribution centres across the country. Our client a UK-head quartered group are looking to bring in an experienced Group Financial Accounting Manager to join the central finance function.This role will play a critical part in overseeing group financial reporting, consolidation, and technical accounting, supporting the Group Financial Controller and working closely with finance teams across multiple operating entities.The RoleKey responsibilities will include:
* Ownership of the monthly group consolidation process, including inter company eliminations, journals and reconciliations
* Preparation and review of group financial statements under IFRS
* Leading the year-end statutory reporting process and acting as the primary technical contact for external auditors
* Providing technical accounting support (including acquisitions, group restructures, share-based payments and leases)
* Oversight of balance sheet integrity, cashflow reporting and group reserves
* Supporting the implementation and enhancement of group reporting and consolidation systems
* Improving processes, controls and documentation across the group
* Managing and developing junior finance team members and partnering with local finance leads
* Supporting senior stakeholders with ad-hoc analysis, papers and board-level reporting as required
The Ideal CandidateYou are likely to be:
* ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
* Currently working in group reporting, financial accounting, audit or technical accounting
* Experienced in group consolidations within a multi-entity environment
* Confident applying and interpreting IFRS standards
* Comfortable working with auditors and senior stakeholders
* Commercially minded, detail-oriented, and confident taking ownership of complex reporting areas
* Motivated by the opportunity to influence and improve group finance processes
* Experience within audit (Big 4 or large firm) and/or transition into industry is particularly welcomed.
