The Rock Project is the UK's premier school of rock and pop for young people aged 7-18 and adults of all ages
Whether our students are complete beginners or they already play, our aim is to mentor them on either the guitar, bass, drums, keyboard or with singing lessons and to get them playing in bands and performing on stage at our rock concerts.

Hours and locations
You will be working on Mondays 4-9:30pm in Bedgrove, Tuesdays 4-11pm in Leighton Buzzard, Wednesdays in Buckingham from 4-11pm and Thursdays in Dunstable from 4-11pm.
This will be 38 weeks of the year during term time. Additional hours will be available when we do concerts and Summer Schools. Please note that finish times can vary slightly depending on the session.
A new candidate should be able to start 08/09/2025
Job role and responsibilities
You will be responsible for making sure all our sessions run smoothly, safely and professionally. This includes,
* Run the session as stipulated by The Rock Project and deal with any parent queries as best as you can, anything 'admin' is to be referred to the Franchise Manager.
* Teach your instrument in fun and engaging lessons to classes of 1-5 kids/teens or adults.
* Driving the van to all sessions and setting up all equipment and packing down (with assistance from a tutor)
* Marking all students on the register as well as talking to parents when required.
* Ensuring new and existing students have a fun time, feel welcomed and respect others.
* Provide first aid when required (a first aid cert will be required for this role, one can be provided if need be)
* Preparing students for concerts with help from your team as well as presenting these concerts to parents.
* Locking up venues where we are key holders as well as liaising with site managers
* Making sure all students have got all the tools they require to improve, for example song sheets, practice cards, engaging and productive lessons etc.
* Be aware of The Rock Project child protection policy. Watch out for any students who are struggling. Keep on top of any form of bullying.
* Ensure that each student (juniors especially) go home with the correct parent/guardian. Do not allow junior students to walk out on their own unless you can see the parent/guardian.
* Undertake occasional other duties as required.
Qualifications/experience
A suitable candidate should have as many of the following as possible
* Enhanced DBS and first aid certificate
* Experience in teaching music to small/medium sized groups
* A formal qualification in music. For example grades, diplomas etc
* To be proficient in at least one of the following instruments
Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals or Keyboards. Candidates that can play and teach more than one of these will find this advantageous
* To be confident when directing large groups of kids, teens and adults
* A driving licence is a must, candidates without this will not be considered.
* Confident with leading a small group of tutors
* Available for all of the hours previously listed
* Must have a UTR number as you will work on a self-employed basis.
