The Club Forfar ASC is a competitive swimming club dedicated to helping all our swimmers be the best they can be. We work hard to create a safe, positive environment that promotes the enjoyment and enthusiasm of being involved in the sport of swimming. We are affiliated with Midland district, and wish to create a highly capable and talented team of coaches to make sure our swimmers reach their full potential. We are looking to recruit a Development Coach who can coach children aged between 7 to 12 years within our Gold and Silver squads. The Individual Forfar ASC are seeking a highly motivated coach who will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs for swimmers within our Gold and Silver squads. Ideally, you will be a Level 2 Swimming Coach. However, you may be a Level 1 Coach with coaching experience, and in this case the club would be willing to support your development and training. Focusing on developing athletes’ skills, performance, and overall team spirit, this role involves coaching swimmers of varying skill levels, from learn to swim through to our Performance squad. We are committed to creating a positive and motivating environment for all our swimmers. In return, you will have the support of a good committee, the potential to work with other coaches, an opportunity to continue to develop through regular CPD training and work with other athletes at different levels. The Role Coaching & Training: Plan and implement tailored training sessions suitable for the relevant squad Provide technical instruction and feedback to swimmers on stroke technique, starts, and turns. Athlete Development: Monitor and evaluate swimmers’ progress, adapting training plans as needed. Encourage goal-setting and support athletes in achieving their personal bests. Help the swimmers develop a positive and healthy mental attitude to the sport and competitive situations and encourage good habits in nutrition, sleep, and well-being. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other coaches and support staff to ensure a cohesive coaching environment. Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions. Event Preparation: Organize and prepare swimmers for competitions, including warm-up routines and post-race analysis. Attend swim meets and support athletes during competitions. Communication & Parental Involvement: Foster open communication with athletes regarding training, development, and competition. Provide regular updates on swimmer progress and club activities. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to club policies, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding protocols. Maintain CWPS, and first aid as required. Complete and Enhanced Disclosure (PVG) check Qualifications Previous coaching experience in swimming, preferably with SSCQ or L2 coaching credentials. L1 coaching credentials will be accepted and considered also but may be subject to a review of roles and responsibilities in line with the qualification standards. Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and training principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Remuneration This is a self-employed position, and Forfar ASC will potentially offer a competitive level of remuneration, considering experience and qualifications. The role may be variable but will be approximately 4 hours/week. All training sessions are based at Forfar community campus, with the Following Sessions Being Part Of The Role Thursday: 18:30 – 20:00 Sunday: 11:00 – 12:30 There will be an expectation for you to prepare the swimmers for, and attend competitions over and above this.
