Overview
Personalised Learning Dorset are a dedicated mentoring and re-engagement service supporting young people in Dorset, Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Wiltshire. We work with young people in their homes and communities as well as at our modern, purpose-built Blandford Hub to give them the confidence and skills to take the next step in their educational journey.
As part of our evolving service PLD have created the brand new role of Learning Assistant. We are offering the opportunity for skilled and enthusiastic practitioners to join the existing team of Outreach Mentors and Support Workers to deliver high quality interventions for the young people we support.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality interventions for the young people supported by PLD.
* Work as part of a team to support young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
* Be a collaborative, resourceful professional and able to work in a 1:1 setting or as a small group leader.
* Contribute to flexible activities; applicants with backgrounds in sporting, musical or art activities are welcome.
Qualifications and Experience
* Ideally a background as a teaching assistant or support worker.
* Confident practitioner with ability to apply skills in new settings.
* Experience or interest in working with SEND and SEMH needs is desirable.
