The remit of the support team is to take responsibility for the coordination and delivery of support activities across the Engineering user group for deployed new functional design capabilities within Siemens NX toolset (Siemens NX CAD/Teamcenter PLM/Capital/Visualisation).
The Support, Sustain and Improvement Architect will be a subject matter expert in one or more Siemens design tools, providing "at-elbow" support to the end user base within a submarine programme. This role involves offering effective, value-add best practice guidance, identifying improvement opportunities, and managing knowledge effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing expert consultation on the usage and optimization of Siemens NX software in marine engineering and shipbuilding contexts.
* Offering "at elbow" support and knowledge transfer to users, advocating best practices for digital solutions, both on-site in Barrow-in-Furness and remotely (initial 2-3 days onsite to establish relationships).
* Owning end user issues and queries, triaging to ensure proper management by relevant teams such as Training, Process, Data, IM&T.
* Representing the "voice of the user" to leverage insights for generating improvements in training, user guides, business processes, automation, and systems.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to understand current and future functional updates, including support documentation, training, defect, and workaround management.
* Building trusted relationships within the end user community and serving as a primary contact.
* Signposting users to available support materials like user guides, process documentation, defect reports, and workarounds.
* Providing coaching and mentoring to support resources for effective toolset upskilling.
* Contributing to documentation and knowledge management activities.
* Supporting project and programme reporting and communication efforts.
Your Profile
* Minimum of 3 years' experience with Siemens NX CAD and Teamcenter PLM, with some experience in Capital and/or Visualisation preferred.
* Learning mindset with ability to stay updated on toolset developments and client use cases.
* Analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
* Proactive attitude with the ability to support diverse users with varying knowledge levels.
* Empathetic and patient approach to end-user support.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in Engineering/Manufacturing, preferably in Aerospace & Defence sectors.
* Familiarity with NX Structure Designer and/or NX for Shipbuilding.
* Experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff.
