We are looking to recruit a band 6 Clinical Lead (part time – 30 hours) to work on our Female Adult Acute Mental Health ward at Foss Park Hospital York. Candidates must have 18 months post‑qualifying experience including sign‑off of the appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying.

Main duties of the job
As Clinical Lead you will:
* Have excellent leadership and organisational skills and work closely with a variety of professional teams across North Yorkshire and the wider organisation.
* Develop and mentor staff within your team and collaborate with the Ward Manager to maintain the highest standards of care.
* Support the delivery of Patient Centred Care, support for carers and evidence‑based practice.
* Carry out all aspects of patient care including medication, one‑to‑one time with patients, observations (including physical health observations), coordinate the shift and be Nurse in Charge when required.
* Receive regular supervision, training opportunities and be encouraged to develop your role within the evolving team.
Qualifications
* Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council (RMNH/RNLD).
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent (must be achieved within 6 months).
* Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision or willingness to work towards this within 6 months.
Experience
* 18 months post‑qualifying experience including sign‑off of the appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
* Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
* Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate.
* Supervising or assessing students on practice placement.
* Working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Engaging in quality improvement activities.
Knowledge
* Demonstrable knowledge to post‑graduate level of evidence‑based practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
* Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
* Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
* Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
* Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
* Research and development methodology.
* Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.
* Working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections.

£39,959 to £48,117 a year pro rata, per annum.
