Job Description:
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Swindon Dispute Resolution team.
Our Dispute Resolution team advises on a wide variety of disputes, acting for large commercial clients, owner-managed businesses, and individuals across all industries and sectors.
We are looking for a new team member to help grow and develop the team, while maintaining excellent client service and demonstrating market/sector knowledge. The successful candidate will support the Head of Team in achieving the Team Business Plan and contribute to the Business Unit Business Plan. There will be line management and supervisory responsibilities for Solicitors, Paralegals, and other juniors in the team.
The duties will include:
* Leading own client matters and assisting partners on highly complex matters.
* Demonstrating market/sector knowledge and experience, ensuring solid legal advice is given.
* Building effective relationships with clients and referrers, exceeding client service expectations, and supporting partners in managing larger key clients.
* Making decisions with minimal supervision, consulting partners on highly complex issues or new areas of work.
* Developing a profile as an established expert and trusted advisor for internal and external referrals.
* Writing articles, blogs, engaging with social media, producing vlogs/podcasts on topical issues to raise profiles.
* Supervising and coaching team members, ensuring high-quality output.
* Contributing to talent development within the team, sharing knowledge, and delegating work appropriately.
* Acting as an ambassador of the firm, role modeling values, and promoting ESG and EDI initiatives.
* Managing department and cross-functional projects, contributing positively to team engagement.
Skills, Experience, and Attributes
* Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 6+ PQE
* Experience in commercial and civil disputes, insolvency, debt recovery, professional negligence.
* Interest or exposure to specialisms such as contractual disputes, negligence, misrepresentation, restitution, directors, shareholders, partnership disputes, debt recovery, and enforcement.
* Ability to manage own files and delegate work effectively.
* Strong client management skills with a focus on excellent service delivery.
* Proven ability to win new business through successful business development activities.
* Ability to supervise and line manage a small team.
