Overview
We are looking for a Band 7 Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join our Specialist Community Team covering Reading, Wokingham and Newbury. The main base will be Erlegh House on the grounds of the University of Reading. The team provides assessments, therapeutic interventions and care coordination for children and young people with moderate to severe complex mental health difficulties. The role involves working with a diverse caseload across social, cultural and individual differences.
Responsibilities
* Deliver assessments, interventions and care to young people and their families in a way that is appropriate to each case.
* Offer individual and family sessions and run reflective clinics.
* Collaborate with schools, social care and other agencies.
* Participate in service development and audit activities.
* Receive regular supervision, ongoing learning opportunities and provide supervision and training to junior colleagues and other agencies where appropriate.
* Manage an independently sized caseload, working within professional guidelines and exercising responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice.
* Contribute to research, audit, service development and professional development initiatives.
Qualifications
* Qualified or about to qualify Family and Systemic Psychotherapist accredited by the UKCP.
* A core profession as defined in the job specification (e.g. Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker).
* Experience in children, young people and families mental health services, including possible placements.
* UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or equivalent ability to reach rural locations effectively.
