Overview
NUVIA UK is seeking a Spares Engineer (Client side) to join the Technical Services & Consulting department. The role is based in Bristol and Bridgwater with hybrid working options. BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. This is a hybrid role with the possibility of combining work from home and in the office.
Location and arrangement
Locations: Bristol and Bridgwater offices with potential site work. Hybrid working arrangement available.
Responsibilities
* Deliver part of the Spares Engineering Work Scope for HPC systems, including spares strategies, obsolescence strategy, standardisation of spares, and procurement of spare parts.
* Provide technical analysis, optimisation, selection, approval, and procurement of strategic and non-strategic spare parts.
* Collaborate with stakeholders and other disciplines to deliver projects; interface with HPC departments, EPR Family Stations, and EDF Energy’s Nuclear Business.
* Produce technical reviews recommending procurement of spare parts and present to stakeholders; ensure alignment with commissioning and maintenance needs.
* Manage equipment obsolescence during project phases; develop engineering solutions and procurement recommendations.
* Develop and implement processes for project phase and plant operation.
* Own procurement of Strategic Spares; oversee manufacturing activities (e.g., FATs and RRMs) and support storage arrangements for strategic spares.
* Maintain and standardise the spares list to meet commissioning and maintenance timelines.
* Maintain technical and functional relationships with HPC departments and related stakeholders; promote lessons learned from operating experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
* Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Process Engineering or similar field
* 1+ years experience in a similar role
* Ability for occasional travel to supplier and client facilities
* Driven and self-motivated with ability to take on responsibility quickly
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Proficiency with Excel
* Ability to read technical drawings and information from various data sources
* Ability to develop and follow procedures; experience in a project environment
* Experience dealing with a wide range of suppliers and customers (UK and international)
* Excellent report writing skills (Technical Business Cases)
