KS3 Nurture Teacher
Location: Effingham, Surrey
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £33,075 - £48,719 per year (M1 - UPS2 Fringe)
Plus: £5,000 Welcome bonus for qualified teachers*
Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time only
Start time 8.15am, Finish times: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4.45pm, Thursday 5pm, Friday 4pm
Start date: As soon as possible, likely September
We are seeking a KS3 Teacher to lead our nurture programme. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching to students aged 11-16 with ASD and other complex or anxiety-related needs, some with challenging behaviours and multiple learning difficulties.

Key Duties:
You will be accountable to the school leadership for:
* Contributing to curriculum delivery and development, considering students' educational, physical, and social needs.
* Collaborating with staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Maintaining and using short, medium, and long-term plans.
* Setting, monitoring, and reviewing personalized targets to optimize learning.
* Assessing and reporting student progress to parents, staff, and funding bodies as per policies.
* Developing lesson plans with analysis and reflection on outcomes.
* Attending relevant meetings and maintaining communication with staff.
* Contributing to reviews of EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
* Providing structured lessons that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.
* Staying informed about developments in autism education to enhance teaching.
* Managing individual needs with a non-confrontational approach.
* Managing challenging behaviours in line with school policies.
Flexibility is essential, as duties may vary in SEN environments.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent, with evidence of ongoing training.
* Experience working in a special school, particularly with pupils with ASC and SEND.
* Proven ability to deliver differentiated curricula to diverse needs.
* Additional qualifications in SEND are desirable.
* Knowledge of ASC/SEMH students with complex needs.
* Strong understanding of the national curriculum.
* Experience with autism and co-morbid conditions affecting learning.
* Experience in curriculum development for SEND, especially autism.
