Overview
We are seeking a Teacher of English for full‑time or part‑time permanent positions commencing September 2026. The role is based in a highly successful 11‑19 academy, teaching across both campuses and schools stages KS3–KS5. The teacher will report to the Faculty Leader and work within a collaborative faculty with established learning schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan lessons in line with the schemes of work for each course.
* Ensure prior learning and special needs of students are met.
* Set high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
* Implement academy curriculum policies on marking, assessment, target setting and reporting.
* Maintain progression and continuity across key stages.
Pastoral Duties
* Act as a tutor to a group of students, providing guidance, safeguarding, monitoring progress and maintaining communication with parents.
* Contribute to the Personal Development Programme.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in a relevant subject.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or achieved prior to commencement.
* Hardworking, enthusiastic, and committed to high‑quality teaching.
* Experience with new teaching and learning developments.
* Strong integrity and a willingness to learn.
* Experience as an ECT or teacher – both are welcomed.
Personal Qualities
* Strong plan, deliver, and assess ability for all learners.
* Ability to deploy a range of strategies to support student development.

Remuneration
Annual salary will be determined through the Plume Academy Teacher Pay Scale and can be up to £51,047 (2025/26 pay awards). Salaries are reviewed annually and progression is based on performance reviews.
