Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of families and children? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated Family Wellbeing Worker to join our West Family Hub Team, providing essential support to families in the West Berkshire area.

The Role

Responsibilities

As a Family Wellbeing Worker, you will be part of a dynamic team working to deliver the best start in life for children and to support families to achieve the changes they want to make. You will be responsible for:


* Delivering effective family support interventions, working directly with children, parents, and carers.
* Conducting assessments of individual and family needs, identifying areas of support and implementing appropriate support plans.
* Providing guidance, and practical assistance to families, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
* Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to ensure holistic support is provided to families.
* Monitoring and evaluating progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

* Experience working in a family support role, with a good understanding of the challenges faced by families.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks related to child welfare and family support.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
* Strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to identify needs and implement appropriate support strategies.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritise tasks.
* Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach when working with families.
