Job Overview
The Associate Scientist – Antibody Validation contributes to Abcam’s Antibody Product Portfolio expansion by validating and characterizing new antibodies. This position reports to the Team Leader of Immunocytochemistry and Flow Cytometry and is part of the Validation Team located in Cambridge. The role is on‑site.
Responsibilities
* Design and execute immunoassays.
* Image using manual and automated fluorescence microscopy (confocal Leica SP8, Operetta high‑content analyzer – HCA).
* Contribute to protocol development, validation, optimization, documentation, and integration into standard work streams.
* Actively seek to improve testing conditions for individual antibody products and product groups to best demonstrate performance.
Essential Requirements
* PhD in a life sciences field or an MSc with multiple years of industry experience.
* Experience using antibodies for immunocytochemistry and firm understanding of principles, literature, and methods.
* Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
* Facilitate open and constructive communication within and across teams globally.
Preferred Experience
* Flow cytometry.
* Immunology.
