Overview
Senior Consultant, Supply Chain & Operations is a key client-facing role focused on helping organisations optimise and transform their supply chain, operations, net zero and commercial and procurement operations. You will work with cross-functional teams across EY’s Consulting, People and Technology practices, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and leading procurement capabilities to deliver value for clients.

You will work with technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain, as well as leading procurement (Source to Pay) technology.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Build, maintain and strengthen relationships and be a trusted advisor in at least one area of supply chain (e.g., operations, planning, procurement, manufacturing).
* Contribute to or lead a workstream within a project and manage activities to deliverables within your remit.
* Contribute as an active member of a core project team, often with colleagues from EY’s global network.
Support our Business
* Contribute to the development of proposals to showcase leading practices.
* Engage the market with thought leadership and public profile, and contribute to refining methodologies.
* Collaborate with internal sector and account teams to develop your network and bring commercial and procurement expertise to bear.
Support Operational Excellence
* Support successful delivery of projects by managing work products and contributing within forecasted time and budget.
* Ensure quality of delivery exceeds client expectations by effectively managing activities within your remit.
Personal and People Development
* Maintain a personal development plan to constantly enhance technical and consulting skills.
* Grow your people leadership experience by leading as part of client and internal teams.
Your Experience
Senior Consultants typically bring practical experience from either a professional services or industry background with developed commercial and procurement experience. Commercial and procurement experience should span multiple sectors, with focus areas including Consumer Products & Retail, Energy & Resources, Government & Infrastructure, Health & Life Sciences, Private & National and Telecommunications, Media & Entertainment.
We expect experience in at least one of the following technical skill areas, with exposure to others:
* Supply Chain Strategy
o Operating model design, segmentation, inventory optimization; understanding end-to-end supply chain issues and potential performance-improving solutions.
* Supply Chain Transformation
o Participation in significant supply chain transformation projects, including design, setup and delivery (people, process and technology change).
* Digital Supply Chain
o Next-generation supply chain technologies (RPA, cognitive automation, AI, IoT, Blockchain) and Big Data analytics.
* Supply Chain Analytics
o Developing detailed analytics to deliver end-to-end visibility (e.g., connecting supply chain models to customer and pricing analytics).
* Supply Chain Planning Functional
o Demand and supply planning, S&OP, segmentation, inventory optimization and/or production scheduling.
* Supply Chain Planning with Technology
o Knowledge of technologies such as OMP, Kinaxis, o9, Aera, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, or SAP S/4HANA.
* Logistics
o Network design and modelling; knowledge of global customs and trade; warehouse design, 3PL/4PL or control tower management.
* Manufacturing
o Manufacturing optimization at plant level or network level.
* Procurement
o Strategic, operational, or transactional procurement across the lifecycle; experience with SAP Ariba is preferred.
* Service and Asset Management Transformation
o Asset management lifecycle including field service, asset management transformation, budgeting, sourcing, warehousing and inventory management, repairs and disposals.
Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with peers and senior stakeholders. Proactive, energetic, self-starters with innovative qualities enabling high-quality work in tight timeframes. Professional body membership or qualifications (e.g., CIPS, IACCM) are helpful but not mandatory; relevant skills may be additive to our team.
