The Role
They are looking for a highly technical and detail‑oriented Technical Writer to join their marketing team and help improve and expand the content across their product catalogue and website. This role is ideal for the true science enthusiast, someone who can translate complex material properties and applications into clear, engaging, and SEO‑friendly content.
In addition to focusing on exciting content opportunities, you will also play a key role in supporting the sales and marketing teams in the development of marketing activities and supporting the business at industry events. You will engage with online technical communities, contributing to discussions and driving awareness of their products and be a key member of the team while growing the presence of the company brands globally.
Key Responsibilities
* Write and refine technical content for the website, including news and blog posts, white papers, case studies, product descriptions, and application guides.
* Optimise content for SEO to improve search rankings and visibility.
* Research and write authoritative content, explaining how specific materials help industries perform critical tests or achieve breakthroughs.
* Actively participate in online technical communities (e.g., Reddit, LinkedIn Groups), contributing expertise and fostering meaningful discussions.
* Work closely with scientists, engineers, and product managers to ensure scientific accuracy in all published content.
* Stay up to date with industry trends to create relevant, high‑impact content.
* Support the Marketing Communications Manager by attending exhibitions, trade shows, and supporting the Marketing Team on ongoing activities.
* Manage social media content from live events to engage with attendees and customers.
Skills and Qualifications
* Education: A degree in a scientific field is essential. While a degree in Materials Science is preferred, candidates with degrees in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related fields are encouraged.
* Experience: 1–2 years of writing experience, preferably in a technical or scientific setting (this can include academic work, personal blogs, or portfolios).
* Communication: Strong writing skills with the ability to distill complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible language.
* Digital Skills: An understanding of SEO principles and best practices for technical content.
* Passion: A genuine interest in engaging with online technical communities and a deep love for science and storytelling.
Desirable
* Experience with content management systems (CMS) and SEO tools.
* Familiarity with B2B marketing or technical sales.
* Prior exposure to materials science concepts.
