Overview
Black Fox Solutions are delighted to be working with our client, a leading construction and fit out company, to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager. This is a key role, responsible for overseeing multiple projects from award through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Contract & Commercial Management
o Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
o Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage risk effectively.
o Prepare and manage contractual documentation including variations, claims, and final accounts.
* Project Delivery
o Lead multiple projects from mobilisation through to handover.
o Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure efficient execution.
o Monitor progress against programme, taking corrective action where required.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement
o Act as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and main contractors.
o Attend and chair project meetings, providing clear, timely updates.
o Build and maintain strong relationships to encourage repeat business.
* Financial Oversight
o Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
o Approve payments and ensure accurate financial reporting.
o Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
* Compliance & Quality Assurance
o Ensure all works meet relevant health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
o Oversee RAMS, O&M manuals, and project documentation.
o Support internal and external audits and drive continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a Contracts Manager role within construction or fit out.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
* Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
* Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable Attributes
* Membership of a professional body (e.g., CIOB, RICS).
* Experience with BIM and digital project delivery tools.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
